For families
Moving on from a home you've had a long time.
Downsizing, settling a family home, or working out whether a move makes sense at all. These are not ordinary transactions and they should not be run like one — the decision usually involves a family, a lot of history, and no deadline anyone chose.
How we work on these
We start with the timeline, not the listing.
Sometimes the right answer is to sell in the spring. Sometimes it is to do nothing for a year. We would rather help you work that out than talk you into a decision that suits our calendar.
One point of contact.
You deal with a person who knows the situation, rather than repeating the story to a new name each time. Barbara Adams has run this brokerage since 2008 and handles these conversations herself.
The house, as it actually is.
A home lived in for forty years needs a realistic read on what is worth doing before it goes on the market and what is not. We will tell you when a repair will not pay for itself.
Room for the family to disagree.
Adult children often want different things, and the person whose home it is gets the final say. We are used to working in that space without adding pressure to it.

Tell us where the family is with it.
A few sentences is plenty. There is no obligation, and nothing happens until you want it to.
- You pick what is closest and describe it in your own words.
- Barbara reads it and replies herself, usually with a question or two.
- If it would help to talk, we find a time. If it is too early, we say so.
